Machining: Wall Art
This 45-hour course is for the hobbyist who would like to learn (or practice) machining by working on an art project. Depending on your skills and the complexity of your project(s), we anticipate you will complete 1-2 wall art projects Fee: $299. Location: Technology Career Institute. Time: Mondays & Wednesdays, 10/24–12/21, 1–3:30 p.m.
Welding: Garden Art
This 68-hour course is designed for the hobbyist who would like to learn (or practice) welding by working on an art project. Depending on your skills and the complexity of your project(s), we anticipate you will complete 1-3 garden projects. Fee: $550 Location: Landes Recreation Center. Time: Mondays & Wednesdays, 10/24–12/21, 5–9 p.m.
GD&T II
This is an intermediate-level GD&T class for students who want to gain confidence in the use of GD&T on multiple technical drawings. Time is spent on datum comprehension, selection, and applications. Fee: $99. Location: Technology Career Institute. Time: Tuesdays & Thursdays, 10/25–11/17, 3–5:30 p.m.
Intermediate CNC Programming Using MasterCam Mill
MasterCam is the most widely used CAM software in the industry, and this intermediate, 30-hour course will provide students with trade-specific tips and tricks, whether they are within the production or the programming department. Fee: $150 Location: Technology Career Institute Time: Tuesdays & Thursdays, 10/25–12/6, 6–9 p.m.
Soldering Basics
This is an entry-level course on electrical soldering. Whether you like to fabricate things in your garage or you need practice to become more proficient in your job, this 16-hour, hands-on course will help. Fee: $75. Location: Technology Career Institute Time: Saturdays, 10/29–11/19, 8:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m.
PLC Programming I
Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) systems have evolved to become the central component to most automation systems today. Learn the basic skills to program, troubleshoot and configure PLC-based automation installations. This 20-hour, hands-on course will focus on Allen-Bradley software. Fee: $99. Location: Technology Career Institute. Time: Saturdays, 10/29–11/19, 12–5 p.m.
Women, Welding & Wine
This introductory 52-hour welding class is an opportunity for women in the area to learn how to weld in a fun and stress-free environment and make a wine rack. Fee: $425. Location: Landes Recreation Center. Time: Tuesdays & Thursdays, 11/1–12/15, 5–9 p.m. No class on 11/24.
Blueprint Reading II
This is an intermediate-level blueprint–reading class for students in the manufacturing trades. In this 15-hour, hands-on class, students will read, interpret, and draw more complex blueprints. Fee: $75. Location: Technology Career Institute. Time: Tuesdays & Thursdays, 11/1–11/17, 5–7:30 p.m.
