Grammy-winning Sully and the Blue-Eyed Soul Band to join headliner The Barnwell Shift
San Diego CA— Four acclaimed San Diego area bands will perform at San Diego Coastkeeper’s 5th annual Ocean Commotion Concert to raise money to protect and restore San Diego County’s water quality and supply. Attendees will enjoy local music, beer and prize drawings at an outdoor venue within earshot of beach access to iconic Mission Bay.
Oceanside band The Barnwell Shift and San Diego Coastkeeper started Ocean Commotion together five years ago to unite musicians for a cause dear to residents of San Diego—clean water. Donated performances ensure that ticket costs for the event wholly benefit San Diego Coastkeeper’s work.
Band lineup:
- The Barnwell Shift – Known for their progressive yet playful “shift rock,” the headline trio artfully blends the sounds of funk, folk and rock while challenging the traditional one-person, one-instrument musical norms.
- Sully and the Blue-Eyed Soul Band – These Grammy Award winners and 4-time Tony Award nominees on Bass, Sax and Keyboards are known for playing tunes by artists such as Stevie Wonder, Doobie Brothers, Bill Withers and Steely Dan as well as original music.
- Wag Halen – An inspired tribute band based in North San Diego County known for the incredible way they bring the songs of their metal heroes to life.
- Dulaney and Co. – The Temecula-based group draws influence from Americana, folk and the blues, bringing their own authentic sound to game-changing performances.
Ocean Commotion takes place at Campland on the Bay, 2211 Pacific Beach Dr, San Diego, CA 92109 on Saturday, April 30, 5 p.m. – 10 p.m.
