Oceanside CA— This evening, Tuesday November 17, 2015 at approximately 6:22pm, a 26-year-old male from Escondido was driving his 2014 Chevy Silverado westbound on SR-78 west of Jefferson St at an unknown speed.
For reasons still under investigation by the CHP, the driver veered to the right and struck a pedestrian who was walking on the shoulder.
The pedestrian an (adult male) John Doe, was pronounced dead on scene. The driver of the truck was not injured. Alcohol or drugs do not appear to be a factor in this collision.
The incident remains under investigation.
