San Marcos CA— For the past three months, the San Marcos Street Narcotics and Gang Detail spearheaded Operation Frequent Flyer.
The following Sheriff’s units participated in the operation:
- San Marcos Street Narcotics and Gang Detail
- North Coastal Street Narcotics and Gang Detail
- Jurisdictions Unified for Drug and Gang Enforcement (JUDGE)
- San Marcos Gang Enforcement Team.
Operation Frequent Flyer was a collaborative effort targeting prolific offenders, especially those involved in narcotics and gang-related crimes. The operation utilized intelligence-led policing philosophies to identify and arrest prolific offenders. The operation led to 39 felony arrests and 21 misdemeanor arrests. The arrests were for various felony and misdemeanor warrants, possession of controlled substances for sale, robbery, assault with a deadly weapon, possession of stolen property, weapons violations, gang injunction violations, probation violations, possession of narcotics and drunk in public. 74 Field Interviews were also completed during the operation.
The operation led to the following seizures:
- 158.93 grams of Methamphetamine
- 120.18 grams of Heroin
- 17.4 grams of Cocaine
- 77 Ecstasy Pills
- 174 pharmaceutical pills
- 28.13 grams of Psilocybin
- $2,775 US Currency
- $37,000 of Fraudulent US Currency
- 4 firearms
- 6 Stolen Vehicles
The goal of the operation was to take a proactive approach to narcotics dealing and gang-related crime in the City of San Marcos and the surrounding North County communities.
