Oceanside CA— On October 16, 2015 at 7:44 p.m., Oceanside Police officers were dispatched to 3186 Vista Way (Hooters) in reference to an armed robbery, which occurred in the parking lot. The reporting party initially told dispatchers that he was robbed at gunpoint for his wallet by and unknown black male adult and an unknown white male adult. Officers arrived on scene and learned from the reporting party that he posted an ad on Craig’s List to sell two hover boards. The ad was answered by an unknown male subject, who agreed to meet the victim in the parking lot of Hooters to buy the two hover boards.
When the victim arrived at Hooters, he was met by a black male adult and white male adult who claimed to have the money to buy the boards. The victim became suspicious of the two subjects and decided to leave. As the victim was attempting to leave, the black male took the two hover boards from the victim’s vehicle and ran eastbound through the parking lot. The white male fled westbound through the parking lot. The victim followed the black male, who ran to a waiting vehicle that was parked on Vista Way. As the victim was trying to write the suspect’s license plate number down, the black male pointed a handgun at the him. The victim was frightened and fled.
The investigation into the ad on Craig’s List led officers to an address 2360 Paseo de Laura in Oceanside. They contacted Travis Morrison who lives at the address. The victim was shown a photo line-up and positively identified Morrison as being the white male who met him in the parking lot of Hooters with the black male. A curbstone line-up was conducted with the victim and he positively identified Morrison as one of the suspects.
