Oceanside CA—The MiraCosta College Music Department has exciting concerts coming this fall featuring the college’s symphony orchestra and choral group.
MiraCosta College Symphony Orchestra – Saturday, October 24 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, October 25 at 3 p.m.
The opening concert for the season will feature the college’s illustrious piano faculty member Wan-Chin Chang performing Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 5, “The Emperor.” The orchestra will perform a new overture composed by student Evan Kim, and Antonín Dvorák’s timeless classic, “Symphony No. 9” from The New World. Branden Muresan will serve as conductor.

h5>Masterworks Chorale performs Puccini: Messa di Gloria – Saturday, November 7 at 7:30 p.m.
Composer Giacomo Puccini is beloved for the sweeping melodies and luxurious harmonies in his great operas such as La Boheme and Turandot. His setting of the traditional Latin mass texts is perhaps lesser known but is equally richly scored.
Audiences will enjoy hearing the orchestration with full chorus and soloists. The performance begins with an introduction of the work.
