Alex Groves is a Southern California freelance writer. He is a graduate of Great Oak High School in Temecula and currently attends Cal State Fullerton, where he is majoring in journalism. He writes a column on conservation and the sustainable management of resources for the school’s paper, The Daily Titan. After graduating from CSU Fullerton, Alex aims to have a career in writing.

Helen Hawes enjoys spotlighting stories that benefit the community. She has a degree in English from USC (no, not that one; she went to the University of South Carolina). To hone her skills in broadcast journalism, she studies at San Diego City College, where she’s contributed to both Newscene and Citystories. Internships at KSDS and KPBS provided invaluable experience. Helen also won the Editor’s Choice Award for Fiction in the Acorn Review.
