Oceanside CA— The Oceanside Police Department is seeking assistance from the public with a felony assault which occurred on September 22, 2015 at approximately 7:00PM on the Strand near the base of the Oceanside Pier.
On Tuesday September 22, 2015 at approximately 7:00PM Oceanside Police received a call for assistance from Oceanside Lifeguards. A preliminary investigation revealed a 67 year-old female was assaulted for no apparent reason by an unknown suspect. The victim was knocked unconscious and sustained serious injuries. She was transported to a local trauma center and is still being treated for serious injuries.
The suspect has been described as a Black Male Adult, 20-30 years of age, having long dread locks and wearing a black sweatshirt and blue floral board shorts. The suspect may have been in possession of a skateboard. At the time of the attack, it was noted there were several pedestrians, beach goers, surfers and others who may have witnessed the crime.
