San Diego County CA— For more than 25 years, The Resource Conservation District (RCD) of Greater San Diego County has been awarding Conservation Scholarships to deserving high school seniors throughout the San Diego area. Recently, the RCD awarded six $1,000 scholarships to local seniors who will be attending college to pursue careers in environmental science, conservation, agriculture, or biology.
2015 RCD Conservation Scholarship Winners:
- Isabel Adams – Patrick Henry High School
- Angela Chen – Monte Vista High School
- Mariaesther Diaz – Mar Vista High School
- Rose Do – Scripps Ranch High School
- Elise Gout – San Dieguito Academy High School
- Alexander Nguyen – Patrick Henry High School
“Reviewing these applications was inspiring and hopeful,” said Ann Baldridge, Education Coordinator at the RCD. “The dedication and excitement these future conservation leaders have for preserving natural resources and their strong respect for the environment makes us feel very optimistic for the future.”
The RCD Conservation Scholarships are awarded every year. The application window opens in February and scholarships are awarded in May. Applicants must be high school seniors and live in San Diego County.
