Oceanside CA— The MiraCosta College Automotive Technology and Business Programs will hold our 5th Annual Car and Motorcycle Show on Saturday, May 2 from 9am-2pm at MiraCosta College, 1 Barnard Drive, Oceanside. Car awards and a prize drawing will be held at 1 p.m.
Proceeds from the event will benefit the college’s military, veteran and EOPS students.
“One of the most honorable things an American can do is to serve his or her country via military service. One of the most difficult and admirable things an individual with financial constraints can do is to pursue a college degree or certificate to improve his or her skills, employability, and value to the community,” said Steve Vail, event coordinator. “Whether you enter a vehicle or simply participate as a spectator your support can go a long way toward helping these students afford textbooks and/or bolster our scholarship funds.”
The event is free for spectators. Food will be provided by MishMash Gourmet. Music ranging from the Beach Boys to current hits will be provided by William Locken of Skankn Sounds/Locken Productions. Also, local high school students will battle it out in a go-cart competition!
The fee to exhibit your vehicle is $20 on the day of the event. Preregister online by April 29, and the fee is $15 (military and students, $10).
The event is open to any car or motorcycle and there are no year or make/model restrictions. Categories include hot rods, classics, tuners, trucks, customs, choppers, rat rods, unrestored original and works in progress. Entrants can register online at foundation.miracosta.edu/events.html.
“Car shows are a unique way for car owners, enthusiasts, and MiraCosta Automotive Technology students to showcase their craftsmanship and mechanical abilities by displaying their pride and joy for the public to enjoy!”
The Car and Motorcycle Show will be held in Parking Lot 1A, with free spectator parking in lot 2A.
