Oceanside CA— The City of Oceanside is contemplating changes to residential parking standards in portions of the Coastal Zone located outside of the Downtown District. In response to direction provided by the City Council in December, the Planning Division is exploring alternative parking standards that address high-occupancy dwelling units, tandem parking, lift parking, and guest parking in condominium and apartment complexes. As part of this effort, staff is seeking input from residents and others who spend time in the Coastal Zone. Staff has posted a brief survey and scheduled a community workshop for 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 23, 2015, at the Beach Community Center located 300 N. The Strand in Oceanside. Please take a moment to fill out the survey here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/5G5KTKT. Survey responses will be accepted through Thursday, April 30, 2015. Responses received by April 17 will be shared at the community workshop.
Following public outreach, staff will prepare formal recommendations for review by the Planning Commission in early summer. The City Council is expected to render a final decision on these recommendations in August or September.
Questions and comments regarding this project should be directed to Senior Planner Russ Cunningham at rcunningham@ci.oceanside.ca.us or 760-435-3525.
