Oceanside CA— One person was injured and hospitalized after her car was stuck by a southbound Amtrak train at approximately 8:12am today, March 16, 2015, at the railroad crossing on Cassidy Street.
San Diego County Sheriff’s Department Transit Unit Deputies responded to investigate the incident. Witnesses’ report the white female driver of the Cadillac stopped on the railroad tracks as the train approached.
Oceanside firefighters extricated the person from her car, which was pushed down the tracks approximately 20 yards by the locomotive and she was airlifted to Scripps La Jolla Hospital. Her condition is currently unknown.
The northbound Amtrak Surfliner #567, which makes all COASTER stops has been cancelled. The northbound Amtrak #769 which departs San Diego at 9:25AM will make all COASTER stops.

Amtrak Train Collides with Car in Oceanside
