Oceanside CA— Oceanside Cultural Arts Foundation and Oceanside Public Library in partnership with the Friends of the Oceanside Public Library, will hold the 5th annual “Write On, Oceanside!” Literary Festival celebrating San Diego’s North County authors. This year North County’s largest literary event will be held Saturday, July 18, 2015, from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm in and around the Oceanside Civic Center Plaza and Community Rooms. It will take place outdoors in the shade of a giant tent.
Organizers are planning a bigger, more exciting event this year that will include live music, educational workshops, and activities for families and children. Attendees will have an opportunity to talk with their favorite writers, meet new local authors, take pictures and get autographs, and purchase books directly from the authors. Admission to “Write On, Oceanside!” is free of charge to general public as well as for writers to participate.
The organizational committee of “Write On, Oceanside!” is currently seeking participation from authors from throughout North County. Published and self-published authors in fiction and non-fiction categories will be considered.
Also accepted are children’s books, teenage, how-to, comics / graphic novels, poetry, plays, science fiction / horror, biography / autobiography, gardening, cookbooks, animals, photography/art, mystery and spiritual. Lots of fun await participating writers during the course of the festival, including One-Minute Pitch presentations, writing of Never Ending Story (a book combining one-sentence contributions from general public and authors), and Raffle Giveaway with a couple of Barnes And Noble NOOK e-readers as top prizes. (That is, besides the free educations workshops to be announced soon!) Participation is limited. Candidates must include the author’s name and brief biography, book title and brief description, book cost, and link to their promotional website in the application. Deadline for application is May 31, 2015. For more information on how to be a part of this special event visit website www.ocaf.info/woo or contact woo@ocaf.info
