Untraditional Irish appetizers pair with local brews to benefit San Diego Food Bank
San Diego CA – As luck would have it, St Patrick’s Day happens twice this year, and for a good cause. Dust off your favorite green outfit and join Barons Market, a locally owned grocery store that sells simply good food at simply good prices, on Thursday, March 12 for an exclusive St. Paddy’s Day themed beer and food tasting with local brewer, Acoustic Ales.
Friends and neighbors will spend the evening sampling local beers from Acoustic Ales paired with untraditional St. Paddy’s appetizers made at Barons Market with its famous selection of all-natural ingredients.
The menu includes:
- Bacon and cheddar potato bites paired with Shake Your Money Maker nut brown ale
- Reuben wonton bites paired with The Groupie Belgian blonde ale and Mad Dub Belgian brown ale
- Irish Dubliner and artichoke dip paired with Mosh Pit hoppy red ale
- Reuben pizza paired with Willow Wolves IPA
This savory celebration not only tastes good, but does good; Barons Market will donate 100 percent of the ticket sales to the San Diego Food Bank. Since December, 2013, Barons has raised more than $1,500 for the Food Bank with its Backroom Beer Pairings and plans to top that in 2015.
“The real treat of these tastings isn’t the food; it’s raising hundreds of dollars for an organization in our community,” says Rachel Shemirani, Barons Market marketing manager. “Giving back never felt better than enjoying craft beers and holiday-themed appetizers with friends.”
Grab your green and head over to Barons Market in Point Loma, located 4001 W. Point Loma Blvd. from 6 – 8 p.m. on March 12. Space is limited, so purchase your $10 ticket today for a food and beer match-up that will knock your little green socks off.
